For university preparation, it’s good to give yourself as much experience with research databases as possible to find primary sources. We’ve collected important primary source portals from the Web at H-B’s Primary Source Portal.
Finding a Topic around which to develop your research question:
Explore the timeline you’ve been given. Explore the relevant categories ESPRAT+G for questions that are most compelling to you and your partners and explore the very VISUAL library books. Zero in on what makes you most CURIOUS and within the first week, have it developed into an overarching question. supported by 3 more narrow focus questions.
For example:
- How did minorities and others fight of their freedom and liberty in the sixties?
- How were the protests of young people reflected in new artistic forms in the sixties?
- To what extent did the involvement of celebrities such as folk musicians force an end to US involvement in the Vietnam War?
- To what extent was “hippie culture” only practiced by wealthy white college kids, and not people from other socio-economic groups?
- How did US efforts to contain communism overseas in ___ represent a conflict for American values?
