Equity and Excellence

The APS Office of Equity and Excellence is dedicated to helping students to discover and utilize resources that will help them progress toward their personal goals.

The department works to create an equitable, hospitable, appreciative, safe, and inclusive environment for students, families, and staff members, resulting in openness, inclusiveness, respect, and appreciation for diversity of thought, values, cultures, learning styles, perceptions, and actions.  Here at H-B Woodlawn, the following Equity and Excellence programs support the goals of the APS’ Office of Equity and Excellence:

  • GMU Early Identification Program
  • PSAT and SAT registration assistance
  • College readiness
  • 6th Grade Transition Tuesdays (for Transition Saturday attendees)
  • College tours
  • Student workshops
  • Diversity Leadership conference

Inspiring day at the Student Social Entrepreneurship Summit! Students came up with a social issue they’d like to change and learned how they could enact that change with the experience & encouragement of Daniel Meyer, Founder of Under A Tree @APSCTAE @HBWProgram https://t.co/9TdAdoSC5j
