  • Changing Passwords
    • Staff passwords expire every six months.  Mac users may not see a notice until the password has expired unless they visit Outlook on the web occasionally.
    • Staff can change their password in Outlook Web or by pressing the Ctrl + Alt + Del keys on a Windows 7 staff computer. Get directions for changing your password.
    • Passwords must be a minimum of 10 characters.
    • This will change the password for all accounts using Active Directory.  Teachers will need to update the passwords saved on all their devices.
    • Students can change their password in OneLogin.  Middle School students should see Teri to keep their APS and Apple ID passwords the same.
  • How do new staff get accounts?
    • Accounts for email, network resources, OneLogin, and Blackboard are automatically created after HR receives all the necessary paperwork.
    • Access to Synergy is determined by position. (teacher, special education, office, etc.) An administrator needs to request access by submitting the proper form.
  • How do new students get accounts?
    • Active Directory accounts for wifi, Google, StudentVue, etc. are automatically created when students are enrolled in the system (Synergy).  However a random password is assigned that needs to be changed. Occasionally the Active Directory and Synergy databases don’t sync properly and their may be a delay before students can access Google or their account can be changed.
    • Contact Teri with the student’s name, and student ID number or submit this form.
    • Blackboard accounts are also created automatically.  The initial password for students is their birthday mmddyyyy.

Note: Laptops and iPads can not be be assigned to staff or students until they appear in the inventory system and their Active Directory credentials have been created. It is a good idea to change your password on another computer before you login to your new laptop or iPad.

  • Difficulty accessing any Active Directory/OneLogin accounts?
    • Staff – contact 2847 to have password reset.
    • Students – contact Teri to have password reset or submit this form
    • Multiple bad password attempts will lock your account.  It will unlock automatically in 15 minutes and you can try again.
