Middle School students need to check the IP on their iPads

All Middle School student need to check the IP address on their school issued iPad to make sure they are getting the best wifi. Read more to see how.

We have discovered that some APS iPads are not accessing the best wifi on APS for students. Students that are getting IP addresses starting with 10.31.xxx.xx are getting slower internet and will not be able to access the SOL test servers. Please check now so we can get your iPad corrected.

Go to Settings Wi-Fi then select the (i) to the right of APS to get more information:wifisettings

Read the IP Address.  If it starts with 10.38 or 10.39 great!  But if the IP Address starts with 10.31 please complete this form.(Google sign in required.)wifiipadip

Wilson School Site showing location of temporary fire stationArlington Public School Board posted a news release on July 1, 2016 that they were collaborating with Arlington County on a plan to place a temporary fire station on the Wilson School site, future home to H-B Woodlawn and Stratford.

Under the proposed agreement, the school would open on time, at the start of the 2019-20 school year, but without a field, because the temporary fire station would stand on the site of the planned field. The field would be built after the new Fire Station #10 is completed, and the temporary fire station is removed. The temporary fire station is expected to be removed no sooner than late 2020.

The plan would save the Arlington County an estimated 20 million and APS 5 million in construction costs. Penzance would provide 100 permanent parking spaces in its underground garage for the new school – saving APS the cost of building the 93-space parking garage it had planned to build for the new school.

The County would make temporary parking and off-site interim playing field space available for our students and staff at no cost until the entire project can be completed by 2022.

The two Boards will consider the negotiated agreement at their meetings in July. Read the News Release here.
