Each year the Middle School students of the music program take a field trip, which serves two purposes. First, we go to perform music for a panel of judges. While this is a competition, we really value the judges’ encouragements and feedback. This educational opportunity gives the students an opportunity to learn from other teachers and hear the music from other schools. Second, we go to celebrate our many accomplishments of the year.
This year we will be celebrating by going to Hershey Park, where we will spend the afternoon enjoying the rides and attractions. During our time at the park we will also go to the Awards Ceremony to find out the results of the music competition.
The cost of this trip is $130. Fundraising activities and a payment plan are in place to help make this trip affordable. It is important to us that all students get to attend this trip. If additional financial assistance is required, please contact a music teacher. Whenever we travel it is expected that students abide by the rules they would at HBW. Should a student fail to adhere to the rules, they will be sent home at the expense of their parents. In addition, appropriate APS field trip forms are required for a student to attend this trip.
In order for trips such as this to happen safely and appropriately, chaperones are necessary. If you are interested in chaperoning, please let a music teacher know as soon as possible. Chaperones are also financially responsible for the cost of the trip. We promise that chaperoning our trip is easy, and a time well-spent. Thank you for your support of what promises to be a very meaningful and exciting trip for our music students.
